About Amanda

Therapeutic Approach

Amanda’s primary focus is meeting every person’s need to be seen, valued, and heard. She believes first and foremost in establishing a positive relationship and from there continuing to meet needs as continued levels of respect and trust are established.

Amanda firmly believes in meeting people where they are at. While she employs many different techniques and skills, she is always assessing whether or not something is the best possible resource for the client and the circumstance. Amanda is excited to incorporate various modalities, including talk therapy, creative and artistic therapeutic techniques, and play therapy to name a few.

Experience

Amanda has been working with children in a professional capacity since she was able to earn a paycheck. She learned a great deal about the service of others in her time making magic with The Walt Disney Company. Her first therapeutic experiences took place at the Free Rein Foundation in Huntington Beach, CA learning about equine-assisted psychotherapy in the context of youth and veteran groups. From there, she began working as a school counselor at Learn4Life Assurance Learning Academy. Amanda is now excited to have made the transition to private practice under the supervision of Stephanie Cunningham, LCSW #89910, as she provides therapy with Kids Unfiltered Child and Family Counseling from the office space in Redondo Beach, CA.
