Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety can be separate, but often find themselves intertwined in our lives. While they both have a place in the lives of all healthy individuals, stress and anxiety can become overwhelming and detrimental. If you feel like your stress or anxiety are getting in the way of living your ideal life, considering therapy is one of the firsts steps towards relief.

Perfectionism

Perfectionism and high achievement can initially present as a blessing but can evolve into something more difficult to deal with. Your desire to perform at the highest level to the highest standards can get in the way of other aspects of life. With time and effort, you will be able to break from the bonds of perfectionism and use your abilities in a healthy, fulfilling manner.

“Stress is not what happens to us. It is our response to what happens.”

— Maureen Killoran

“When you aim for perfection, you discover it’s a moving target.”

— Geoffrey Fisher

Grief and Loss

While grief and loss are most often associated with death, grief can be experienced in any transition in life. From moving, to changing careers, to empty-nesting and beyond. Know that while there are commonly accepted stages of grief, the process is by no means linear. Wherever you are in the process reflects what you are ready to work through.

Depression

Depression can feel like a lonely experience. The depths of the sorrow and despair often leaves people feeling isolated and out of reach. Know that, if this resonates with you, there is relief. In spite of these feelings, you have the ability to move out of this darkness and regain connection with others and yourself.

“I sat with my anger long enough until she told me her real name was grief.”

— C. S. Lewis

“Depression is feeling like you’ve lost something but having no clue when or where you last had it. Then, one day, you realize what you lost was yourself.”
